I've got everything coming in the mail, worms will arrive last.
There's three thousand worms coming, and I'd like to use all five trays.
I'm not using the coconut product, unless it comes with the unit.
I've purchased some organic peat moss which should be fine, mixing it with shreaded paper and cardboard.
My intentions were to get all five trays ready with the peat moss organic dirt and shreaded paper, food scraps in the corner to be covered as well on each. Simply going to add the worms once they arrive.
I'm mixing up the batch with red wigglers, european nightcrawlers, and African nightcrawlers.

After the initial feeding, when do I re-feed with scraps
(which will be made into very small pieces)? When do I turn the soil to get oxygen going?
Thanks in advance for the help.MJ.

    MJ,

Once a week is about how often I dump kitchen scraps into my bins. I also aerate the soil at this time as well. Feeding and aerating kind've go hand-in-hand; as you're pulling back the bedding to check how much food is left (or in my case to see where I placed the food last week) you are already aerating the bedding. Just keep digging until you reach the bottom of the bin. I don't think it is necessary to turn the entire bin. You may have some scraps that have yet to be composted and you'll want to leave those in place. Just aerate the areas without food (there will always be scraps here and there, I'm referring to keeping a mass of scraps in place).
